Navy League of the U.S.

Greater Chattanooga Council

Our Mission

The Navy League of the United States, founded in 1902 with the support of President Theodore Roosevelt, is a nonprofit civilian, educational and advocacy organization that supports America’s sea services: the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine.

For over a century, the Navy League has been a voice for maritime strength, engaging the public and Congress on the vital role these services play in national security, economic prosperity, and global stability. Through membership, we unite individuals passionate about maritime heritage, national defense, and community support, fostering a network that uplifts those who serve.

Through membership, the Navy League unites individuals passionate about maritime heritage and service, creating a vibrant network that uplifts those who serve and promotes maritime excellence.

The Greater Chattanooga Council, a chartered organization of the Navy League of the United States, exists to support the members of the maritime forces in the greater Chattanooga area as well as the tri-states area of Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama.  We do so through direct support to military members and their families and by educating the public on the importance of our maritime forces.  We also provide a way for supporters of our maritime forces to gather, socialize, and become a force multiplier in executing the Navy League's mission pillars.
